Wow! I'm blown away by these. Gorgeous!
What a wonderful work of art!
This is breathtaking! Reminds me of Leonid Afremov's paintings.
Wow! Now that is fiber art!
I found this from Running with Scissors blog.... Australian painter David Hinchliffe has idicated this quilt maker has used his design WITHOUT permission and the matter is in the hands of an international copyright. Check out the original painting.http://www.davidhinchliffeartist.

Any chance there is a pattern for Rain II?
although it ia nice I did check out the original artist at http://www.davidhinchliffeartist and definitely looks like a copyright violation of his work........how sad that you can't come up with your own photo
Sad that this has happened.
Just saw this fabulous quilt and I thought it was a painting, just amazing!
I am flabbergasted. These are amazing quilts.
As artists we are often inspired by other artist's work ...not duplicating, but reinterpreting some part. You can see the origin of the design in David Hinchliffe's painting, (although quite rearranged) but the process of expressing in bits of textile is where Danny Amazonas's real artistry lies. I would be flattered if I saw a painting of mine reinvented with this level of artistry.
I appreciate that from you, Michelle, being an artist. I wanted to make the picture in fabric but thought it might be a version of plagiarism...but I guess it really isn't. I've also found another painting that I would like to use in the same way. Of course, neither project would be an exact replica or be intended for that. And they would not be marketed or even shown professionally. I'm just a wacky quilter/sewist.
This is..!! I'm speechless.
Truly beautiful. I love the Kingfisher, the fish and all of the chickens. How about a Humming bird? So much talent.
