Did you know that feedsacks had selvages? I didn't! Where else can you learn so much about the lowly selvage?
Marydon of the Blushing Rose Boutique in Westminster, MD sent this photo, and she says:
"The entire fabric is the same right up to the edge/selvage ... only a rare few have writing about the textile mill. I have attached a pic of a rare one."
You can visit her boutique at: http://www.blushingroseboutique.com/. In addition to other merchandise, she and her husband offer vintage feedsacks for sale. Thank you, Marydon!
I'm totally surprised to see that info on a feedsack selvage. I'm constantly amazed by the variety of information and projects that you gather for your blog. Thanks from all of us who follow you faithfully.
ReplyDeleteTYSM for posting this feedsack. I also posted it today for our Memorial Remembrances to our veterans. The post shows a better view of the actual design on the feedsack, if anyone is interested in viewing it.
ReplyDeleteThis was a very kind thing to do for us ... I had never seen selvages used for anything until I luckily bumped into you.
Have a lovely week. Again, TY.
