Okay!
This is what we've been waiting for! I just knew there were some awesome selvage stashes out there somewhere. This one belongs to Iowa quilter Vivian Lincicum (photo above and below). Clearly impressive, Vivian!! You can make anything you want with this supply. Imagine the possibilities! Her daughter is a quilter too, so this stash has to accomodate 2 quilters.
This basket arrangement belongs to Kami (below). She keeps the basket on top of her quilting books. She fluffed them up for the photo, and she's thinking she has enough to start a project. Yup, I think so too. Take a look at her blog at:
http://kamisquilting.blogspot.com/ This is the selvage stash of JoAnne in Keller, TX (below). You have probably seen her blog at:
http://nappinnanaquilts.blogspot.com/. I like that pretty wall quilt too!
Diane stores her selvages in this pretty jar with a cork lid (below). These are so neat and pretty, I think I'd just admire them in that jar! Very creative, Diane!
More selvage stashes to come on May 13th! This is fun. :)
To be honest mine looks a little more like the first photo.
ReplyDeleteGreat stash pictures! My selvage stash still fits within a cookie jar :) but I'm working on it.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...Vivian is now my idol (after Karen, of course).

ReplyDeleteMorning Karen, thanks for featuring my jar of selvage. Now I really have selvage envy after seeing Vivian's and her daughter's treasures...........Dianne

Wow Vivian has quite a handsome collection of selvages. Looks like she is ready to take on a big project! What a great selvage stash.
ReplyDeleteI Love selvedge - and I'm drooling after seeing the first photo!!!
ReplyDelete(ofcourse I would never drool ON the selvedge!)
I'm from Australia/Scotland - so the American tradition of quilt making is all new to me. I make 'unusual' things with the few selvedge scraps I can get my eager hands on!!!
this is an amazing site, so glad I can follow it! thank you
In my life I would never have given a selvage a second thought & what I am seeing you gals do with them is amazing. Do you do this with feedsack selvages also?

ReplyDeleteWow, and I am just getting started. I edited this comment I forgot to tell you I just got your book and am looking through my scraps for edges.
ReplyDeleteVivian wins. Behold the motherload!
ReplyDeleteYep, first one for me too (though not that many!) - I wish I could get more organised, but alas, it always ends up looking a dog's breakfast again in no time.
ReplyDeleteWow, my tiny little stash isn't worth posting a picture of!
ReplyDeleteI now have motivation to increase it after seeing that first photo!
I like inspirations and Karen, you have certainly provided me with more than a life times worth on this site!
Keep up the great work!
