Nancy's Floral Selvage Quilt

Posted by Picasa

Nancy in Connecticut is making her first selvage quilt. She was thinking the florals were "too much" but then she found the sandy colored fabric for the inner border and now she loves it. I do too, especially that selvagve border. Nice job, Nancy!

Take a look at her blog: http://www.quiltingquandry.blogspot.com/. She has an excellent tutorial showing how to make a block with folded curves. Very cool.
I thought you'd be interested to know that Wednesday was a record-breaking day here at the Selvage Blog. There were 873 individual visitors! Did you know this was such a busy place? I'm so glad you are here!
It was also my 56th birthday! My husband and I had a nice dinner at the Cheesecake Factory here in White Plains, NY. My Mom gave me a mountain laurel shrub. I love those!

  1. Happy Birthday, Karen! Having met you in person, it's hard to believe you're 56! It's not surprising about the blog's record breaking. It's a fun blog!

  2. Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY a day late! Sounds like you had a great day! I love the Cheesecake Factory, too, except their menu is like reading a book (it's the biggest menu I've ever seen!) AND it's so hard to pick something...but the hubby and I always have to order the avocado egg rolls as an appetizer. Then I buy a jar of the dressing you dip them in to take home. I've learned to make a pretty darn good copy cat version of them!:)

  9. oohah - you are a month older than I am!!! I grew up in the bush (here in Oz) with very little contact with other kids and it still amazes me when I find OTHER KIDS my age!!! So happy birthday - and if you are going to be in Central Vic at the end of May there is a party at my house!
    Hugs
