Have lived here in Oregon since 1964 when I moved from Washington. We make that trip up the Columbia Gorge at least once a year. You must have been up on the scenic rout. Have always wanted to go that rout instead of up 84, Hubby just goes and wants to get where we are going. I like the framed picture and will now look at those arches a little different. Think I would frame that picture if I had it!!
The arch does add a certain interest to the photo but I like the old stone railing in the other one too and the wider view of the river, more scenery, give you a better idea of the whole country side. Nice photos both of them.
I love the photo through the arch. Having said that, though, I would love one of just the scenery too. And one of that stone railing as the main subject. What can I say? I take way too many pictures! lol Hugs, Kerry
Anyone can take a picture like the second one, but the first shows how you think outside the BOX. I love photography and do a little in my spare time, but not for a long time. And I just thinks the first picture is SO creative! Claire
I like it thru the arc as well. I can't believe you took that thru the little hole in the rail. I can imagine how you looked trying to get that shot! LOL
Looking through the arch is more artful and holds better appeal to those looking at it. It is the kind of picture that you want to frame or look at over and over again to remember the beauty of the scene. The second photo is the type that most people take. They don't go back and look at it too often because it doesn't capture the beauty the way they remember it. I really like the first!
I agree -- it also frames the scene. Lovely photo! I'd blow it up and frame it.
ReplyDeleteThrough the arc, it adds a frame to the picture that enhances it.
ReplyDeleteI lived on the Oregon side of the Columbia River. Can't wait to move back one day. Gorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteI preferred the first one, until i saw the second one. I think I would most prefer "no architecture at all."
ReplyDeleteWow what a difference. Beautiful pictures. The arch really sets it off. Makes is look so old world.
