Granny's Last Dollar

On a recent visit to The City Quilter in Manhattan I saw this dollar bill with a red crocheted edge! And there are red beads surrounding George too. This was made by Katherine Knauer and she calls it "Granny's Last Dollar." This souvenir of the economic crisis of 2009 sells for $47.50.

Visit The City Quilter at: http://www.cityquilter.com/ or go to 133 West 25th St. between 6th and 7th Aves.

  1. So much for the idea of the "weak value of the dollar"! Nearly $50 for a now unspendable dollar bill! LOL. Very creative. Wonder if it will sell?

  2. Anyone who pays $47.50 for a dollar needs to take a math or economics's class. Creative and fun souvenir.

  4. Adorable idea, but almost $50?
I wonder how they are selling???Ironically, this store was on my list to visit tomorrow when we were headed in to NYC to see the tree in Rockefeller Center. Postponed now, due to the snowstorm. :(

  5. I think this is a great idea...and should be easy to make really. My husband and I have been trying to cut back saying this is the last BIG Christmas for our kids and grandkids. Will plan ahead and try and make one for each of them next year.
