This cartoon cracked me up, and I had to share it with you.
My fabric stash is like a bath tub with the water running and the drain open. You know, some coming in and some going out, and the overall level staying about the same. (Which is about 8 Rubbermaid storage boxes.)
How about you?
Haha that's really clever Karen. I'm sure you won't mind if I copy it and email to a few friends.
ReplyDeleteOH, -I really loved that cartoon!
ReplyDeleteHello my name is Bente. I have been adicted to fabrics for at least 30 years and have a couple of cubic meters of fabric! I am in a periode of using almost as much fabric as I buy!I bought my last meters at the Vinter Fair at Roros in mid Norway last friday. http://www.visitnorway.com/us/Product/?pid=69966
It is just refreshing to know I'm not alone! Just when I think I have the prettiest fabric, they come out with more.
ReplyDeleteI blame it all on Moda. They keep coming up with great fabric collections. I have lots of bins of fabric...but I NEED them all!!
ReplyDeleteCute cartoon. Only eight bins? I have sixteen, but I'm proud to say that more IS going out than coming in. I'm on a strict lockdown!
ReplyDeleteSo what is wrong with her? She hasn't purchased any in 6 days, she need to get some at least every other day right?? I think my stash is like yours a little in, a little out.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of us quilters could benefit from a 12-step program! This is funny.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute. Don't know where you found it, but I hope you don't mind that I used it with a poll about shopping.
ReplyDeleteThat cartoon is so cute.Yeah and if I would quit buying fabric I might have some money, LOL
ReplyDeleteUh, only 8? You must be younger than I am!
ReplyDeleteI have purged a BUNCH of fabric, and am only trying to buy fabric that I NEED for a specific project. So far I'm doing well, but I've still got enough fabric to quilt my entire city! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cartoon!!! I need to print it off and hang it in my sewing studio.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Mimi and I have the addiction, too. I was just upstairs cleaning up from my last project and I'm overstocked! I have some more organizing to do and then I'll start another project.
Seriously, though...I LOVE having a big stash. I can go upstairs to my studio and just create...usually don't need to shop for much of anything.
Oh dear....I have to admit I have the equivalent of A MINIMUM of ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY Rubbermaid storage containers - the BIGGEST ones. I'm insulating my house with fabric. Come the "fabric famine" you will all be trying to be my best friend. I just went to the Sewing & Stitchery Expo in Puyallup, WA last Thursday and came home with plenty more to join the fabric family I already have. I'm a baddddd fabricaholic.....there is no 12-step program for me.....
ReplyDeleteLOL!! I am not buying fabric until after Easter. Although I don't observe Lent, I did give up fabric for 40+ days. It isn't easy either!
ReplyDeletefunny! and so very true! it's the same story for me, fabric coming and going, but my stash never dwindles. :)
ReplyDeleteOnly 8 rubbermaid totes--I wish--I have two walls full of shelving rom Ikea--that is full of fabric--plus about 100+ tubs on shelves in my garage. I have been quilting since 1970 & it shows.... Help I DO NEED A 12 STEP PROGRAM!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy count:
ReplyDelete20+ bins of fabric
60+ quilting books
10+ quilting blog subscriptions
= when will I ever find time to actually quilt???
I'm taking the fifth.
ReplyDeleteThat is just too funny!! Just remember they will never stop creating more beautiful fabrics... so just enjoy quilting and stop feeling guilty!! That's what I think... I have bought lots of batting but only 1 FQ of fabric in about the last 6 months.
ReplyDeleteROTFL! This is just so appropriate for me right now as I was at a quilt show on Friday and bought _way_ too much fabric!
ReplyDeleteHow funny!!!
ReplyDeleteStop buying fabric won't help anything! I tried a couple of years ago and ended up with tons of magazines and books :)
