I need a real good theme for a Quilt Challenge. Something that will appeal to a lot of quilters. Maybe selvages, maybe not.
In this brainstorming phase, don't reject any ideas. You know how one idea leads to the next and we spur each other on! Thanks.
I would love to do a scrappy star quilt with selvages...
ReplyDeleteand also make my own fabric with it then cut it into blocks, maybe then make nine patches with them...

I'd like to challenge shop owners to offer selvage scrap bags. Hardly anyone does this and there is a market for it! Back to quilters...how about a creative Journal cover challenge...which could also encourage quilters to get their ideas on paper. Lynne
ReplyDeleteSelvages plus GREENS - any design, any style - just selvages and GREENS.
ReplyDeleteselvages plus one color would be alot of fun......or string quilts. I have always wanted to do one!!

What about a selvage sampler quilt? To not make it take forever, you could show 6 different blocks, and each quilter could make however many they choose of each block to make it the size they wanted -- make 1 of each for a baby quilt, or make 8 of each for a large quilt.
