Happy Easter! (Gospel in a Nutshell)

Easter is a big day for me. I didn't "get it" until I was 33 years old. Okay, I wasn't really trying most of that time either. Now it all makes sense.

We are all sinners, since none of us can obey God's law perfectly. But God made a way for us to be forgiven so we can have eternal life in heaven. All we have to do is recognize our sinfulness and accept the fact that Jesus paid the penalty for our sin when he died on the cross.

It's that simple. God is closer to you than your next breath, so if you're thinking "Wow! Thank you!" then He heard that thought as a prayer. It took me a long time to figure out exactly what they were getting at in church. I thought someone else might want to know too. Happy Easter!
