Visit Julie's blog at: http://www.quiltdivajulie.blogspot.com/. Julie's blog has been named one of "55 Rad Blogs" in the new issue Quilter's Home magazine. Yayyy, Julie! (By "rad" they mean funny, interesting and easy to read, in case you were wondering.)
This is what Julie had to say about the label below:
Awww, 4th anniversary. Happy anniversary Eric and Lauren! It's not pieced onto the back but stitched on so that it will be quilted into
the quilt. I used a Sharpie to write on the freezer-papered fabric, removed the
paper and heat set the printing, pieced a bit, pressed some more, and finished
with selvages (giving me woven edges and no turning under). How clever is that? Good thinking, Julie!
What a great idea and such a clever idea to record another piece of information about the quilt on the label - the fabrics used! Somewhere down the line when someone is trying to gather a history of these quilts they will have more information to go on!

I am loving this idea! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this Karen - clever idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks for passing these ideas on, Karen . . . just wish I'd starting doing this sooner! (Having the label quilted into the quilt makes sure it is "done" instead of having it added to the too-long "to do" list!)
ReplyDeleteOutstanding idea! I am constantly amazed and inspired by the creativity of quilters!
ReplyDeleteReally good idea! The best thing about the internet is seeing the creativity of all these fabulous people!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea of using selvages for the edges! I'll have to try it out next time.
