You are just in time to depart on the Selvage Blog Surprise Field Trip! Hop aboard. We've been saving a seat especially for you. Would you care for some iced tea? Fruit or chocolates?
The first stop is Iguazu National Park, on the border of Brazil and Argentina. Feel the spray in your face? Next, a little bit of wildlife. I wonder if these parrots speak Spanish.
Isn't this a gorgeous passion flower? There are many varities in South America. Some are blue.
Now for some sewing time in Carol Taylor's quilting studio in upstate New York. It was so nice of her to get it ready for us today.
Ready for a break? Is your neck stiff from all that sewing? It's time for a little rest in the Carribean.
The evening's entertainment is a Beatles concert, specifically the last performance on Ed Sullivan. Special requests anyone?
Followed by dinner at the Grand Hyatt in Beijing, China. I wish this was a bigger photo. It looks like a nice place. These chefs said they'll make whatever we want.
Did you have a good time? Sweet dreams. Oh that looks very comfy! Nice view of Beijing too.
Tomorrow the 10 winners of the selvage packs will be announced.
Oh Karen, I have my fingers crossed. Can't wait to send a pic of my next selvege project. It's for a competition and due in Sunday so I have to get cracking.

Okay I want the chocolates & fruit, carribean but mostly the sewing studio! fun adventure, thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh my stars...Carol's sewing studio is awesome. Ed Sullivan brings back lots of memories of Topo Gigio--always a "really good show."
ReplyDeleteSweet Iced Tea for me. Loved the little tour. The sewing studio is awesome! What a view.
ReplyDeleteOkay, if I could go on a field trip like that, I would be the first to board!! Especially if there was a studio like Carol's involved.
ReplyDeleteI want to go on that tour. That room is amazing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to start a monday morning :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mini-vacation.
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible sewing room!
What a fun idea! (The virtual field trip.) You have such a versatile creative mind! I am a contented person and don't usually envy others, but I fell off the wagon when I saw Carol's quilt studio.
ReplyDeleteHey what a great surprise trip.....
ReplyDeleteLove those buses, what's the matter couldn't find any selvage covered ones?
Carol Taylor's quilting studio is such a dream! How wonderful for her! I, too, would love a tour! Thanks for all the super photos.
ReplyDeleteI remember the Beatles last performance on Ed Sullivan. We had to sneak to a neighbor's house because Dad said couldn't watch it. It was worth sneaking out!
Incredible trip! I was packed and ready to go in no time! No baggage fees either! I'd rather spend money on fabric then my luggage :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome studio! I think a day trip there should be next!!
wow that is some sewing room! wowza!
ReplyDeleteI just love the Waterfalls. The Park´s 2 main gates are located a few kilometers away from the cities of Foz do Iguazu in Brazil and Puerto Iguazu in Argentina. Foz do Iguazu receives more tourists due to its larger infrastructure of hotels and tour operators. However, tourists usually visit both sides of the Iguazu Falls Park for a fundamental reason: the sight is marvelous and the experience is different from both sides making it worth traveling the few kilometers that separates them. After that wonderful experience I headed to BA, had an apartment rental buenos aires . I was with my boyfriend, so he took care of buying the food, and I cooked.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a magical time!
