Jacqui from Canada made these little selvage bags to keep near her sewing machine for catching threads and little scraps. The pin cushion at the top is filled with plastic pellets so it stays on the table. Very nice job, Jacqui! You can get a closer look at her selvage arrangements on her blog: www.treadlequilts.blogspot.com. Tomorrow you'll see what her friend Gail made with selvages.
Very cute project. Thanks for sharing...and also for getting the pink button onto my blog...You're the best!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a handy project too! My threads seem to jump out of the trash can and onto the floor!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great idea, I think I have it I will encourage
ReplyDeleteLove my thread catcher. What a great way to make it with selvages.
ReplyDeleteIs that a Singer treadle I see?
ReplyDeleteDelightful!! I now save the threads and scrap pieces of fabric... to one day use them for stuffing a pillow. A past quilt guild that I was a member of donates these pillows to the homeless in their city.
ReplyDeleteStacy: Yup, that's my Singer 15-88 treadle. It was made in 1951 and I use it for most of my quilting :-).
