Origami Roses

This photo is from "The Gift of Gifts" photostream on www.flickr.com. These are paper origami roses. I'd like to see how to make these. Incorporating origami in a quilt would be interesting. Have you tried it?

  1. I never had the gift of origami. Daughter Creations did. Beautiful roses. There is a book that I own called Quiltigami (or very similar). Beautiful projects! If you're interested let me know and I'll look at the exact name and author.

  6. Yes, I have made an origami quilt - a baby quilt to be exact! (Of course, all the quilts I have made are baby quilts...) Turned out so cute. I used a pattern from this book http://www.amazon.com/Fantastic-Fabric-Folding-Innovative-Quilting/dp/1571200851 but I used pretty bright flower colors and leaf green.

  7. I made the kimono quilt from "Fantastic Fabric Folding" by Rebecca Wat. I found the flower quilts too complex. I think paper origami would be easier.

  8. Wow, I just went to Amazon and entered "Quiltagami" in the Search box, and there were lots of interesting books about folded fabric that came up! Take a look.

Have you tried this method? If so, email me a photo and I'll feature it here on the Selvage Blog.
