Alia took this photo at a recent meeting of the Muscat Quilt Guild in Oman. You can see many more on her blog: Coffeebean's Dailies. This colorful quilt by Samira is one of my favorites.
Isn't it interesting that in every corner of the world people are creating beautiful quilts and getting together to share ideas. I love it that we can "visit" together via blogs. Thanks, Alia!
OH wow, that quilt is amazing. What beautiful colours. Imagine waking up to that quilt in your home. It would certainly brighten my day. Colour.. it certainly gives me a buzz.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Karen for coming on over and seeing the blurb I put in on my blog! It sure was a lovely surprise as no one has commented from over here! Anyway, I think I will try to take pictures of all the meetings if I continue to get a great seat! I agree with Samira's quilt! It is stunning!! The Omani ladies keep growing in their interest in quilting and have learned a lot and are pushing forward to great success, ie: 1 is in Houston right now, 2 have gammil machines now and several get to travel to the Houston show, Birmingham show and others! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteKayjay: I know! I was thinking, 'where did she get those fabrics'. I know the answer without asking directly: Muscat, Dubai and Kuwait. Maybe the US and Australia too.
Karen, forgot to thank you for that little map! Great touch!!
