The Empire Quilters guild Block of the Month a few months ago was a raw-edge applique tile block. Pauline Hazard won the blocks and here she is with her finished quilt. Her 11 year-old granddaughter loves this quilt, so of course it belongs to her now. The backing is a soft cuddly flannel fabric. You can see that Pauline added two borders along the outer edge. Terrific job Pauline!
The
winner of the Mickey and Minnie fat quarters is Christine of the
Once Upon a Quilt blog in Queensland, Australia! She'll use them to make something for Sophie, her little grand-daughter, so Sophie is really the winner. :)
More giveaways coming soon.
Yes she sure is the winner, thank you...
ReplyDeleteI love the tile quilt well done.
cheers
Christine
The tile quilt is BEAUTIFUL!! And congrats to Christine-- I suspect the cost of shipping is probably equal to or more than the value of the fabric-- but of course that doesn't matter to quilters/fabric-lovers and winners of giveaways!!
ReplyDeleteShe did a fantastic job making the quilt! I love the two borders that she made. Just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is just great! I can see why her granddaughter claimed it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt!! Congrats to the winners.
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that? Love it!
ReplyDeletethe quilt looks great! how did she quilt it? thanks for showing us.
ReplyDeleteThat tile quilt is gorgeous! Now I want to make one of those too. Will the ideas ever end? Let's hope not!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is machine quilted with swirly lines (large stippling). She also used a dye-grabber in the washing machine to keep the dyes from bleeding. It worked well; the background is nice and white.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove the tile quilt, really beautifully done.
