This novelty string quilt is my latest addition to the
Etsy quilt store. The novelty fabrics include some Victorian children and toys, an ice skate, flowers, etc. See close-ups below. This quilt is a fun combination of improv string piecing and an organized pattern of blocks in a grid. I like how the red outer border holds it all together. I should have added some selvages to this one. Next time.
Love it!

WOW--beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat really is a striking quilt! As I viewed the quilt and read your post, I kept thinking I'll have to see this close up and see where the selvages might be hiding...hahaha...soon enough I had my answer to that. I don't like novelty fabrics much but I love your use of them here. Probably because they blend into the overall beauty.
ReplyDeleteWonderful use of value. Beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteHEY! I actually still have some of that blueberry fabric from way back when. Love string quilts, where you can use any size, any color and the Quilt Police have no jurisdiction.
ReplyDeleteWow, another beautiful and so original quilt! Love it!
