I just finished making this quilt for my sister Eileen who lives in Michigan. Her birthday was Dec. 28. Yellow has been her favorite color since she was a little girl. I even asked her for some yellows from her stash! Haha. She saw this on Christmas Day and recognized her yellows right away. I'll mail it to her tomorrow.
Want to make a quilt like this? See: Yellow Brick Road.
There are some good novelty fabrics in this quilt: teacups, bananas, Dr. Seuss illustrations, popcorn, etc. It measures 59" x 75." This is on of my favorites. It goes together easily.
I have actually started a scrappy version of this to use up some of my 2.5" squares. And I'm loving it - thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteJust yummy, the perfect little pops of colour in it too.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I don't have many yellows and even less after doing the Celtic Solstice mystery quilt, but I could see this using my full drawer of 2.5" squares. I know your sister will love it.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Love all the yellows! I would never find that all in my stash!
ReplyDeleteI really love this quilt Karen! Great way to use up scraps.
ReplyDeleteKaren, you have THE most delightful "scraps"! I's never find that much yellow in my stash. This is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think this would make a great Board Game! So much fun to "move on down the road"
ReplyDeleteYellow is my favorite cooler too. Love the variety in your sister's quilt. A gift of love.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt! I try to include some yellow in every quilt I make, and this one is a stunner! Such a happy quilt, and one I'm sure your sister will adore. Great pattern too!
ReplyDeleteI did it in green. I didn't have that many yellow scraps, but I certainly have a ton of green!
