Here's the write-up from back when I had pincushions in my Etsy shop:
I found this little pitcher in an antique shop in Connecticut. It was made in Japan for Lefton's. There's a cherub with grapes and grapevines on the front and the back. Colorful Impressionist painting design on the fabric. Two 3" long removable pinsies have elongated pearls, and glass beads in yellow, turquoise, and clear glass (which looks like ice). Pincushion measures 4" tall x 3.5" wide, handle to spout. It feels nice in your hand because the design is very pronounced and the handle (if you looked at a cross-section) is square, not round.
Love the pincushion! I usually sew alone but I do go on a few quilting retreats throughout the year which I love to do! Thanks for the chance to win this!
ReplyDeleteThat is a such a cute pincushion! I always sew alone. I do not know anyone else that sews around me. Even if I did, I think I would prefer to sew alone because I have my own weird way of doing things. :) Thank you for the opportunity to win!

so sweet! I do both, sew alone as often as I can and sew with others a couple times a month
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I would love to win your pincushion!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful. That pitcher is just lovely.
ReplyDeleteI sew both ways, but the best is when I am sewing with others.
I love your little pincushion!
ReplyDeleteSadly it's not my birthday!
I always sew alone. Even if I take a workshop that has sewing, I don't sew until I get home! Love the pinsies, karen!
ReplyDeleteI mostly sew alone. It is a pain in the buttinsky to move all my stuff to another location. Like a sew in or such. So I just stay in my very very messy room and sew with the dogs.
ReplyDeleteI sew alone but just last month I went on my first retreat since moving to my new home 8 years ago. :)
ReplyDeleteThe pincushion is lovely! I sew by myself most of the time, but my girlfriend who lives an hour away comes to my house once a year for a sewing weekend.
ReplyDeleteI do both. I enjoy sewing with a friend of mine, but I also very much enjoy sewing alone! I have the best of both worlds!
ReplyDeleteGenerally, I sew alone. The only exception is when the members of my guild gather for a group sew-along.
ReplyDeleteVery cute pincushion! I usually sew alone, but our guild does 3-4 sewing days during the year. Those are really fun.
ReplyDeleteLove the pincushion! I usually sew alone but do sew with groups occasionally. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI do both - I sew with friens sometimes (monthly meeting of my Sew & Tell circle, sew-ins with my guilds, occasionaly weekend retreats and one or two friends to sew in an evening:) AND I sew alone.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of projects I work on depends on how much schlepping I want/need to do and where I am.
:) Linda
Deliciosamente lindo!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love!!!
Oh yeah!
ReplyDeleteI usually sew alone - or sometimes with Bonnie Hunter's quilt cam. I am lucky to belong to a great guild that does have a quilt weekend get away. It's lots of fun to quilt with such talented women!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the give away!
I mostly quilt alone, about three hours a day but several times a month I'm with others, at charity workshops and a friendship group.
ReplyDeleteThe pin cushion is so pretty.
I prefer to sew alone. Major introvert here!
ReplyDeleteI do both--love to have my alone time sewing in my wonderful studio we added onto our house but am in 2 groups that meet periodically and love to sew with them as well. just today I was with a group of 8.
ReplyDeleteI sew alone, or with my daughters, who sometimes like to come in and make things. sarah@forrussia.org
ReplyDeleteToo sweet. I love pincushions. I sew with friends on Tuesdays and Sat once a month. Are those stilletos I see in the cushion? Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThe only time I haven't sewn alone was when I was teaching my seven year old granddaughter to sew by making a pillowcase.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time I sew alone but I also belong to a couple of sewing groups. It is fun to share and learn from others but I find I don't get as much sewing done!
ReplyDeleteI love the little pincushion. Thanks for the chance to win!
I sew alone most of the time but my daughter and I skype and email constantly about our projects. Feels like she is there instead of an hour away.
ReplyDeleteI sew alone because I find that I make too many mistakes when sewing in a group. Love your thrifty creativity! svonfumetti at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteI sew alone or with my 2 year old "helper" if I have to :) I also run everything by my sister in law who lives on the other side of the country :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute pin cushion!! Thanks for sharing:)
ReplyDeleteLove the pincushion (I have been on that collecting phase too!) I sew mainly by myself (unless you count the dog....)
