My dear friend Pam lives near Nashville. Their house suffered serious damage in the recent flood. There is not shortage of generous quilters in the world!
ReplyDeleteSince we are trying to rebuild our house, I'm not able to take on unfinished quilts. But the good news is that Nashville has entered into the painfully slow process of rebuilding. You don't need to send a quilt today.
ReplyDeletePull out your UFO's (surely you have some!) and finish them!! If some of your UFO's have grown stale to you, just finish them in whatever way is easiest for you and send them to me!
The folks that have lost ALL their belongings will treasure the quilt that you send and rejoice that they have something made with love to add to their home.

Is there a reason she doesn't even mention the project on her own site? I've done LOTS of charity work in my life and, unfortunately, have learned to do research before donating anything. Details are essential.

Pam has her hands full while she and her family (husband and three kiddos)are staying with relatives and trying to get their house rebuilt. She will post about her quilt project as soon as she can. Pam just wanted to give us a heads up so we can start planning.
I'm going to make a quilt for her to give away. I know that she'll find just the right family who will value it. I'd trust Pam with a lot more than a quilt. :) She'll be making charity quilts as soon as she can too.
