Pam at QuiltArtStudio in Virginia recently made this gorgeous selvage quilt. She used a "quilt-as-you-go" method. This quilt is for sale on Etsy at QuiltArtStudio. She has a stuning collection of quilts there, many made with colorful Kaffe Fasset fabrics. Lots of inspiration there!

ReplyDeleteI have some questions. Have you ever washed a selvage quilt? If so, how did it do? When quilting is there any trouble with a selvage edge flipping up if it is new sewed right against the edge? Thanks Paula in KY
ReplyDeleteTo farmhousquilter8, my selvage quilts wash and wear exactly like any string quilt, nicely crinkled and softer over time with use. I have not noticed any trouble with edges when quilting, but I do not have a longarm; I quilt smaller sections on my regular machine, then sew together in quilt-as-you-go manner.
