Book Giveaway - Picture This by Marcia Stein

This fabulous book "Picture This" by Marcia Stein (published by C&T 2010) shows you how to make applique pictorial quilts from your favorite photos. If you are a visual learner, you'll love all the "how-to" photos.

Marcia gives lots of inspiration to help you get a photo that will make a stunning quilt. She shows examples of how she has added or deleted elements to make a design better. The process of enlarging the image and creating the quilt is made simple. Lots of fabric ideas too. At first I was just curious about how they make these cool quilts, but after casually reading this book, I'm thinking it would be fun to make one. I think I would like Marcia too. :)

Enter a comment for a random drawing and this book may soon be in your mailbox. Tell us how your new year is going so far.

Would love to win this book because it looks great. My new year so far is going well with trying to quilt a lot and on the other side, my dishwasher broke down and to wash the dish by hand for 4 adult persons takes a lot of time!

I have always been intrigued by pictorial quilts. This book looks like a good one, to take away some of the mystery (in a good way). Our 2011 is going well. With a 3 yr old son, my new mantra for 2011 is flexibility :)
Hope you are having a great 2011 as well!

I have used fabric prints from pics in a couple of quilts before, and the book sounds like a good source to learn much more!

Hope to finish 2 quilts by the end of next week. Both were started last year. I have a ton of pix I have considered turning into quilts. Maybe this book would get me off my duff on those projects.

Thank you so much for offering this giveaway.

This year is going well so far. We moved from Nashville to Cincinnati and are loving it. In fact, the day before yesterday was our three-month mark here. (wanna buy a high-rise condo in the westmeade area?LOL)

I found a great LQS, joined a guild, and am attending my first LQS event on Saturday! One of the shop customers signed me up for a block swap group...LOL!

best of all? Our first grandchild is due in February!

What a great idea for a book!

My new year has already had my birthday, a couple of fun days out getting a new hair do, shopping for fabric and picking up a new book "Word Play quilts". ( hey one of my blocks is on the cover :0).)
and getting ready for a retreat in NYC in March.....off to a great start :0). Also got a new gig making scrap quilts for Quiltmaker Mag...8 of us will be the "Scrap Squad".

And I see you won part of Beth's neighborhood! Maybe my house is in there too.
Happy Sewing

My new year is off to a great start. I have not been able to quilt much lately because of shoulder surgery. I got a GO! for Christmas and January 1st I got a new physical therapist. The therapist has been great. In only two sessions I have been able to return to quilting, especially since the GO! makes everything easier to cut. Best new year ever!

Oh, this is just the book I've been looking for! I love photography, and quilting, and this is the direction I wanted to head, being too 'un-creative' to design anything from scratch. My new year has been spent catching up on sewing jobs... but with the knowledge it's about to get back to normal, ie too busy!
