Martina's New Selvage Spiderweb Quilt

This fabulous selvage spiderweb quilt was made by my friend and quilter/lawyer Martina Odenthal of Cologne, Germany! And there she is in the photo above. The longarm quilting was done by her friend Brigitte who also chose the perfect backing for this quilt. What a great idea to quilt the spiderweb design in the white areas. Their quilting buddies contributed selvages for this big quilt. Beautiful job!

Selvage Spider Web

Elizabeth from Edmond, Oklahoma made her first selvage project, a pot-holder. This spider web block (from a tutorial on Sew Mama Sew) with hand quilting is much too nice to use as a pot-holder, in my opinion. Over the weekend she was de-selvaging her stash in preparation for her next project. I can't wait to see that! Hop on over to Elizabeth's blog: Pieceful Life.

Inspiration from Nostalgic Cafe!

Wowzers! Take a look at all these selvage projects by Michelle from Florida on Nostalgic Cafe!
Numbering them 1-9, top to bottom, left to right, which is your favorite? I especially like #4 the spider web and #8 the house (or pool cabana). Oh yeah, #9 the Asterisk blocks too! Cool selvages in #2 too. Nice job Michelle!

Fantastic Selvage Spiderweb Quilt

This beautiful little selvage spiderweb quilt was made by Cindy at liveacolorfullife. She made this for Jennifer as part of a swap on flickr. See the name "Jennifer" in the blue selvage in the bottom photo? Nice touch. I love this design, the quilting, and the striped binding. Great selvages, too. It's perfect. See Cindy's blog at: http://www.aroundtheblockdesigns.blogspot.com/ and: www.sewingontheedge.etsy.com.
.
If you haven't seen all the amazing quilts on flickr, you're in for a nice surprise. Go to http://www.flickr.com/ and sign up. It's easy and free. Then enter "quilting" in the "Find a Group" box. There are even some selvage quilting groups.
