Alda Creates Her Own "Selvage Fabrics"

Alda of Germany started with her selvages in a box (above), and then created her own squares of selvage fabric. Notice how they have color themes? She's not saying these are quilt blocks; they're fabrics ready for future projects. She just increased the size of her fabric stash!

See what happens when a quilter gets a good idea? (below) I wonder how long it would have taken to build the pyramids in Egypt if quilters got the idea? It makes you stop and wonder!
See Alda's blog at: http://aldas-gepatchtes-und-gesticktes.blogspot.com/. She writes in English too so we know what she's up to! Thank you, Alda;)

What a great idea, then all you have to do is cut when you want to make a block. Smart cookie that Alda.

I enjoy reading your blog every day. So many ideas. When I moved up to my new sewing room, When I put the fabrics away, I tore the selvages off of all of them so now I have a good collection. I've been thinking about making selvage fabric for a purse or something. I'm not sure how to do it, Do you sew them onto muslin first, overlapping each edge?
