A Vintage Quilt for Fifty Cents?

Yes! A friend in my quilt guild recently bought this vintage feathered star quilt at the Bethlehem (CT) Fair for fifty cents! It's in very good condition too. And look at all those tiny triangles! I didn't think that happened any more!

50 cents? Who ever did the pricing definitely doesn't know anything about quilt making! I did get a twin sized double pink Irish chain quilt at a house sale for one dollar many years ago. The binding is worn, but other than that it was in good shape. The nephews of the man who lived in the house hesitated at even charging me a dollar. Obviously they knew nothing about quilts!

This quilt looks exactly like the one I purchased from JCPenney in 1996 when I purchased my home. Are you sure it's vintage? Maybe someone saw this one and decided it would be a great one to mass reproduce.

Good for her! And yes, it does still happen, just not to me! It is lovely!

Shari,
I got to take a good look at this quilt at the guild meeting and it definitely is the real thing, a vintage handmade quilt. I'm glad it's now in a good home. :)
