Montpelier, VT at Christmastime

We had a wonderful Christmas week, then it was time for another road trip to Vermont to bring my sister, niece and nephew home to Montpelier, VT. What a charming small city. The people are as nice as can be. My sister is about to have back surgery and people are shoveling her driveway, bringing food, getting her mail, and bringing her to doctor appointments (an hour away). Here are some pics of this friendly (and snowy) place.

I have the most wonderful memories of Vermont from the 1960's when I lived in Montreal.
I stayed there one time for a week before Christmas , then went on to New York it is in my mind often as such a wonderful atmosphere in the winter festive time. Linda

The photo of the Pedestrian sign going the wrong way made me chuckle. Nothing gets by you....

I lived in Montpelier when I attended Vermont College from 1971-1973; it is now another campus of Norwich University. Back in those days it was a wonderful place to live and study, it looks as if nothing has changed; thanks for the happy memory jogger today!

I used to live in Montpelier, and have eaten at that diner and shopped at that bookstore. Great memories. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year.

Anywhere, VT in the winter is always pretty. My sister is up near Newport...and I always imagine the snow and the mountains... and the moose :)

So did you find the knitting studio on main street? I know you are a knitter as well as a quilter. and there is a nice quilt shop on the outskirts of Montpelier. both shops are places where i visit frequently!!

Haha, Helen. I think the pedestrian sign tells where the crosswalk is. And it alerts drivers too, since the crosswalk stripes were covered in slush and sand.
I actually didn't really notice those signs. Haha, and you thought I was being funny!
