Sunday on Block Island

This weekend my DH and I had a wonderful visit with old friends who live in Rhode Island. On Sunday we took the high-speed ferry (bottom photo) to Block Island which is about 10 miles off the coast of RI. We walked to the lighthouse at Mohigan Bluffs (above) then climbed the 143 stairs down to the beach...and back! Then we had lunch in town (next photo) before boarding the ferry to go home. What a beautiful summer day.

Come back tomorrow to see a beautiful selvage spider web quilt.

This looks like a beautiful place, Karen. The lighthouse photo with that sky is gorgeous! I just want to move into that old brick house. It looks so much cooler than it is here. In Iowa today, we're expected to reach 98 degrees with 74 percent humidity. Ugh! It's good weather ONLY for growing corn.

We don't get out to Block Island very often, but we can see it from our local beach! The kids used to enjoy waving to people on the ferry.

We LOVE Block Island - we got engaged on the ferry 31 years ago! Glad you enjoyed your day, and your pics are great - they bring back memories!

What a wonderful day to go to the island. I haven't been over there in ages, always too crowded.

Thanks for the photos of Block Island. It is beautiful. My sister's in-laws had a place there for decades.
