Joan Jordan's Selvage Purse

Take a look at this stunning selvage purse made by Joan Jordan of Atlanta, Georgia! She shows the whole process of making the purse on her blog and it's very interesting: http://connectingthedots-jj.blogspot.com/2009/03/hooked-on-selvages.html. I love how she arranged her selvages, and added three rounded buttons at the top. (She's thinking of rearranging them into a stop-light pattern. I think that's a great idea.) There are pockets on the sides and a zippered pocket inside. This purse has it all! Great job, Joan!

I was interested to read that she started making the selvage blocks before she knew what she was going to use them for. That makes sense to me! I think Joan would like the Onion Chair, don't you? See: http://selvageblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/what-can-this-onion-chair-give-us.html

Thanks, Karen. I can't wait to see what my next selvage project turns out to be!

I'm beginning to think I might have to check this out. I love all the projects. So far I've only used my fabric selvages for tying up tomato plants! This looks much more fun.

Your selvage works are really amazing. I love all of them!! I made a simple bag with them (http://lascosasdevero.blogspot.com/2009/03/paseando-por-sitges.html) and I am working in a star quilt with them. I like them so much.
