Moda Selvage Scrap Bags? Yes!

Elena McDowell of Raleigh, NC bought this scrap bag of Moda selvage strips at her local quilt shop, Wish Upon a Quilt. The bag has 40 different fabrics, all 2 1/2" wide and 32" long - all for $9.99. She says they're selling pretty well too. This is the first time I've heard of this! Has anyone else seen these for sale?

"Hello, I'd Like 5 Pounds of Selvages, Please"

That's what Elena McDowell got when she went to her local quilt shop in Raleigh, NC recently! Her friend Cathy who is also the owner of Wish Upon a Quilt, makes up lots of kits (and layer cakes - those are 10" squares of fabric collections) and she and her staff have been saving the selvages for Elena for several months. Can you imagine? Oh! It's nice to have friends in high places!

New Wall Quilt by Elena McDowell

Accomplished selvage quilter Elena McDowell has made this beautiful wall quilt measuring 15" x 37." See the June 2008 Archives for more photos of her selvage creations. She is also the "Mom" of Mr. Socks, whose portrait you can see in the right hand margin of this blog.

Elena has agreed to make a selvage item for the owner of her local quilt shop, Wish Upon a Quilt, in Raleigh, NC (http://www.wishuponaquilt.com/) in exchange for all the shop owner's selvages! Now that's what I call a "win-win" situation!

This quilt is for sale on etsy! Visit: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=13900076
