New Puzzle Quilt Pattern!

Here's my first finish of 2019! A fun scrap Puzzle quilt measuring 45.5" x 60." I love this one; it reminds me of good family times. I used my scrap stash for this, including that black and white polka dot fabric that finds its way into many of my quilts. My sister Eileen gave me a pack of Cotton and Steel prints that I love. This pattern also has 6 photos of other design variations for inspiration.

Just Finished a Super Hero Baby Quilt - Now Waiting For the Baby

This super hero baby quilt is for my DIL's friend in Louisville who is having a baby boy this month.
DIL provided the comic fabrics. The photo below shows the backing and the striped binding. It measures 40" x 41." First I fussy-cut the images, then filled in around them. All the dotted fabrics and striped binding are from my stash. I love the big black dots on the white background, and the cheddar and black too. This was a new challenge, but it was fun to create. I hope the little guy enjoys it.

Newest Quilt Pattern! Sweetie Pie

Here it is: Sweetie Pie. That sounds better than "Baby's First Pie Chart," right? This is a raw-edge applique quilt, the first one made on my new sewing machine. This quilt has been machine washed and dried (on HOT settings) and it's puckered and soft. This quilt and the pattern will go in my Etsy shop today.

Have some quilting fun this weekend! Tell me what you're working on.

Easy Quilt Pattern, Raw-Edge Tied

This soft quilt is great for beginners and people who need a quilt finished yesterday!
Raw-edge squares and little wool ties (see below). This makes a lovely gift.
See the pattern here. 11 Pages, lots of how-to photos.

I made this quilt in one day, but writing the pattern took longer. That's okay, I love making the patterns.

My Mom and Dad bought this rocking horse 29 years ago when our first son (their first grand-baby) was born. Eventually Brian, David and 4 cousins rode this little guy.

I love the texture provided by these little wool ties.

Please spread my Patterns link around on Pinterest, FB, etc. Thanks so much!

"Hexie Quilts" blog hop starts here on June 1st! Book giveaway too.

Christmas Baby Quilt

Isn't this the cutest quilt? It's for a newborn arriving on or around Christmas. Girl or boy. I just listed it on Etsy. It measures 33" x 33." I love the black and white striped binding.

It would look good on a table or over a chair too. It's not juvenile, just lighthearted.
I'm still working on finishing those quilt tops.

Be sure to leave a comment on yesterday's post to win a copy of Victoria's new book: 15 Minutes of Play.

Quilt Top Finishes

Here are 2 of my latest quilt top finishes: one shown above, and one shown below. These measure about 47" x 47." The backings are Kaffe Fassett prints. I'm listing them as "wall quilts/baby quilts." The fabrics are a mix of florals and geometrics, not juvenile prints, but I think they'd be pretty for a baby girl.

When my first son was born, my sister Lynne thought the baby sweaters in the stores were too babyish (duh!) so she knitted a navy and white striped sweater that she thought had a more  masculine look. It did look sharp on the little guy too. Now he's 29, and 6'5" tall. I wonder if she's going to knit him a sweater for Christmas!

Yesterday I finished this scrap quilt (below). It reminds me of the World Quilt that we made earlier this year (see sidebar). It's got everything: retro, modern, florals, dots, novelty prints...even some cute dogs. The quilt measures 45" x 57." The strips were cut 1.25" wide. Binding was made from 5 different prints, in keeping with the "scrap" theme. There are 220 pieces total, in case you were wondering.  :)
