Bread Fabric!

I'm noticing carb fabrics lately. Yesterday the waffle fabric caught my eye, and today I found Rustic Loaves  from the Farmer's Market fabric line by RJR Fabrics. I wonder if it would still look like bread when used in small pieces. See this at eQuilter

I like these Granny Smith apples too. Click here to see lots of other food fabrics.

Waffle Fabric!

I love subtle novelty fabrics like this one with a golden brown waffle pattern. It's by J. Wecker Frisch of Tidings of Great Joy, LLC for Quilting Treasures. Details about this fabric at eQuilter

30 New York City Fabrics

The City Quilter in New York has a fabulous new line of 30 NYC fabrics. The subway dots above would look great in a selvage quilt. (The dots are 1/2" high.) I wonder what the selvages look like.

Strata Quilt by Lois Cox

Lois Cox in California was inspired by the World quilt that we made this year (see sidebar at right), so she cut her favorite novelty prints into 2" strips and made this "Strata Quilt." It measures 70" x 70." It has many of her favorite things: cheeseburgers, M+M's, Hershey Kisses, Hostess cupcakes, candy bars, Coca Cola, cats, and even some fabric from her mother who passed away nearly 30 years ago.

What a wonderful quilt to curl up with this winter! Great job, Lois!

Novelty String Quilt

This novelty string quilt is my latest addition to the Etsy quilt store. The novelty fabrics include some Victorian children and toys, an ice skate, flowers, etc. See close-ups below. This quilt is a fun combination of improv string piecing and an organized pattern of blocks in a grid. I like how the red outer border holds it all together. I should have added some selvages to this one. Next time.
