Spring Equinox

This quilt is called "Spring Equinox," and it's part of the collection of Nancy Ray. Many of her quilts were featured in Gwen Marston's book: Liberated String Quilts a few years ago. This photo was shown recently on the Nifty Quilts blog. I'm always inspired by Nifty Quilts!!

My New Favorite Quilting Book

This book just arrived and I'm savoring each word and picture. The authors have put together a dazzling collection of quilts that I really love. They are somewhat improvisational quilts that you can study and find lots of interesting surprises. The quilts are very creative interpretations of traditional quilts. Great variety, lots of inspiration, humor, color. This is my new favorite quilt book. (This is not an advertisement, per se, I just had to share my excitement with you.)

Liberated Selvage Quilt by Margie Fisher!

This charming selvage quilt was made by Margie Fisher of Thousand Oaks, CA. She made it in the style of Gwen Marston's liberated quilts: carefree and improvisational. This quilt is not all selvages, just a touch. So pretty, Margie!
