I Need Your Advice

Option 1: Star standing on one point.

Option 2: Star standing on two points.

I'm making a new selvage quilt and I need to decide whether to use Option 1 or 2.  Which do you prefer? I think the background will be a yellow retro print.
When I look at Option 2, I see an empty box (in the center 6 blocks).

Just to make things interesting -- well no, sincerely, I like option two. The lighter colored selvage on the left side of the star on one point gives the optical illusion that it is not quite in balance. The two pointed version seems solidly balanced -- in my view, of course.

I'd prefer option 2 'cause for me, the star feels more complexe,it fills the block in a better way, if you know, what I mean! Best wishes Martina

I like option 1 the best. But I love stars any directions.

One point!

Option 1. For some reason, number 2 looks thinner and I much prefer a plump star to a skinny star!

I like 2 better....I don't know why! lol

I prefer number 2. It is much more interesting than #1 and is a bit unexpected.

I think we are all so used to the Star of David as a symbol, it's natural for many of our brains to prefer #1 as something familiar.

Option #2. I think I'm losing in your poll, but when I saw option #1, I immediately thought of a religious star. Not that it's a bad thing - oh no. Is that the message you want to convey?

Oh my. I am not sure! I think #1 looks like it is holding its hands up in the air, and #2 looks like it is just standing there with arms down.

I know, I am weird.

I think I like #2.

I like number 1. It looks like the traditional "star" shape.

Star 1 reminds me of star of David so depending on if you are wanting to convey a 'religious' message or not.

I prefer star 2, I think it has more 'secondry' images in in.

I like option 1, it seems more of an "on point" block to me.

I like option 2 - I think it is unexpected and it fits well with the color choices..... But since you are getting pretty equal votes for both 1 and 2 - maybe twist to the design would be putting some on two points (like in the center) and the one points on the corners or vice-versa - so you are using both options!

I must add that this is a beautiful block!

This time I like the first option better and that had nothing to do with the box in the second one (which I think is cool.) The first option looks airier to me and for a star airy seems to be preferable to me.

I like Option 2. #1 looks nervous, like it could topple over at any moment. #2 looks calm, stable, relaxed.

Like many others I prefer option 2. It looks more stable, balanced and weighty, and is just beautiful in itself without being reminiscent of a religious symbol.
