String Quilts 101

If you're a new quilter, take a look at this fun and easy way to make a string quilt. Make your block bigger than your ruler, then trim. Easy, right? Use any size ruler you like. I used a 6" square in this photo. These strips are about 1 1/2" wide but you can vary the widths.

I pinned it for you Karen and added your blog address and name. (Because I don't like seeing pinned quilts without credit given to the maker and/or designer.}

I just posted a string quilt this morning on my blog. Mine is a Herringbone String Quilt. Made the same way, only a long rectangle rather than squares. Great way to use up those fabric scraps!
