Dan Lee's Silk Bow Ties

Dan Lee in Hadleigh, Suffolk, England has nearly 200 silk bow ties in his Etsy shop: Vava.
He makes them all himself. Not all are this colorful, but these are two of my favorites.
Most are priced around $55. I'm thinking I'd like to wear something like this.
Men don't wear ties so much anymore; maybe selling bow ties to women
(especially fabric lovers) would be a good new market for Dan.
Do you see the "Grandmother's Flower Garden" design in the tie below?
Nice job, Dan!

Thank you so much, Karen. I think that pink hexagonal is one of my favourites too. And whilst I don't have any bow ties specifically for women in my shop yet, I do accept custom requests, so can resize things ;)

They're stunning. What about making them either as belts for women or as chokers (necklaces)? Hey, Dan, I think you could expand your market

Thanks June! I like your ideas, especially the choker one. I'll definitely keep those ideas in my head, though my next expansion will be in to neck ties & then having my owv fabrics woven up, rather than having to rely on what I can find at the mill shop...

Wow, what fun designing your own silk fabrics! I have "favorited" your shop Vava so I'll be back to see the new neckties and new fabrics.

Do you know about Spoonflower.com? You can design your own fabrics there too. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Karen! The silk mill has a huge design archive, stretching back maybe over a century, so I'll be starting with that & choosing some ready-to-go designs to have made up in the colours I choose. Further down the road, I'll also have my own designs woven, but that's a little more costly, so one step at a time.

I've heard of spoonflower.com, yes, though haven't had time to check it out. I don't think it would be appropiate for my neckwear, as I just want to use woven silks, though I also do customised Barbie dolls & spoonflower would likely be ideal for that, as it can be a real challenge finding great prints in a 1/6 scale.
