Pine Burr Quilt and Pattern are Finished!
Now I can cross this off my Bucket List! It really is an amazing quilt with so much texture that you can't help but pet it. It's fun to make too. See the pattern here.
You have a sharp eye! I was inspired to make this quilt when I saw the one at Nifty Quilts. My border fabric is similar to hers too. It was so perfect. I auditioned lots of other fabrics for the border but they just didn't work for me. I knew LeAnn wouldn't mind if I used a similar border.
This quilt isn't hard to make. You lay out the pieces by eye. You can make it neat, but you can't make it perfect. At least it's more fun to think of it that way. And it sure is a stashbuster! I used some of my "less favorite" fabrics in this quilt. And some that have been hanging around for a while. And some that I had a lot of (but not enough for backing). Don't worry, I still have enough fabric to get me through the winter. Haha.
I was planning to lift up some of the burrs and do a few stitches here and there for quilting. But I decided that it really wasn't necessary. The construction process nailed it down pretty well already.

I had already admired such a quilt at Nifty Quilts. It is truly an amazing pattern! It must be a stashbuster! How difficult is it?

Beautiful quilt! I've always wanted to make one. A friend of mine found an antique pine burr at a thrift shop and it must have weighed about 20lbs:)
Looks great! I hope you will let us know how you've quilted this. I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

That is amazing!! It's a beauty!! Could make for some warm winter nights (if you can roll over under the weight!!)
