I was camping in Alaska (freezing cold, I wouldn't recommend it!!) and couldn't sleep so got out of the tent to get some air... oh my.
I spent hours with my nose pointed to the sky.

I got interested in the Northern lights when my daughter moved to Alaska. I sure would love to see them for real sometime, but not sure about the cold that comes with it.They also make noise.
hubby spent a lot of time in Alaska when we first met. Seeing the Aurora Borealis is on my to-do list before I leave this earth.
We lived in Iceland for a couple of years, and some evenings we bundled up and laid out in the grass in our back yard and watched the northern lights. In Iceland we saw green, purple, and white northern lights. They are unlike anything else I've ever seen. You simply can't capture their brilliance in a photograph.
i used to live in alaska and in the winter late at night the lights would appear in the sky and then we would start calling one house to the next to tell each other they were here. then before long we all would be standing in the middle of a snowy and icy street wrapped in warm blankets staring up at the amazing sky...quietly watching and just being there together. i miss it so
Yes, it is breathtaking. I would love to see it in person too.
