Bird's-Eye View of Mt. Hood

I was sitting by the window on my way home from Portland, Oregon, paying attention only to my Kindle when suddenly I saw Mt. Hood right next to me! I whipped out my camera and took this photo, then I noticed two more mountains behind it! Mt. St. Helens and (to the left, on the horizon) Mt. Rainier. I don't see mountains very often, so this is a big deal. Do you ever get tired of looking at moountains?

Never! That's why I love living in B.C. We took our kids to the Mt. St. Helen's interpretive centre this summer on the way home from a visit to Portland. It's a great stop. I even climbed to the top of Mt. St. Helen's 15 years ago with a group of 12 Girl Guides. That was epic!

Me neither, I'm Colorado born, and miss the beautiful Rocky mountains. Our Oregon mountains are beautiful, too, though!

I love mountains and I miss them very much living in Ohio. I will retire somewhere with a mountain view. I used to see Hood a lot living near Portland and while living in Japan Fuji was an amazing thing to see.

OMG, what beautiful photos from the plane! Unbelievable. I never tire of seeing them either. They are very majestic and just gorgeous. Last week we drove through the Rockies and were in awe.

We never get tired of Mt. Hood! There is almost never a time we see it or others peeping out that we don't name what mountain we see. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful picture.

I live near Mount Baker--you can't see it, it's the next one in line north of Rainier--and, no, I don't ever get tired of them! It's a joyful thing to get the view you got from the plane, though--it takes the very most right weather conditions and just the right seat. Lucky you!
