The winner of the selvage pillow is.......durmroll here..........SARA! Yayy Sara! I wish I had 127 selvage pillows so I could send one to everybody who posted a comment on this give-away! She was chosen at random by my 22 year old son David.
She has a cool spider web quilt on her blog today: http://itsjustonemore.blogspot.com/. The dog? That's the photo that appears with her comments, and on her blog sidebar. It cracks me up! (The link has been corrected. Sorry if you visited a wierd place before the correction!)
Come back tomorrow to see my photos of the Empire Quilters "Urban Inspirations" quilt show! A 5-Part extravaganza for the same low price. What a deal!

Congrats, Sara. The pillow is so cute!
I've visted Sara's blog before. Doesn't the dog just make you smile? Too darn cute. Congrats, Sara.
Question: Karen, would you ever use plain (for example - black or denim) selvages that have no writing on them for projects? And what about selvages from muslin? The reason I ask I just used some muslin for samples and cut off the selvage first to save.
Hi Cindy,
Yes, I've used plain dark selvages. Sometimes they come in handy when you want to create a dark area. Take a look at the Tumbling Blocks quilt in the Selvage book. The optical illusion is stronger whth the dark selvages. I bet the light muslin ones would work well in certain projects also. You can always throw them away later!
I hope we selvage quilters don't become the subject of some tv expose featuring all the scraps we're saving "just in case." If some level headed quilter visits this site, please tell us if we are really losing it!
Karen
Ya-ha-whoey! I won. I cannot believe it! Thank you so much! Odin (our great dane) will not, I promise, be allowed to rest his big head on my new pillow!
Yay, for Sara. That dog is so cute. It's ears are so cute.
