I recently discovered French macarons. The ones I tried at La Maison de Macaron in NYC were wonderful, and I love the beautiful display cases with these colorful little cookies all lined up.
This quilt was inspired by displays of macarons. Take a look below and see what I mean.
There will be a pattern for this quilt. Stay tuned.
I wish I could give you all a macaron. Have you tried them?

Fabulous pattern Karen. Great idea. Amazing where inspiration strikes.
You certainly have an eye for color & design!
The macaroons are beautiful, the quilt is delightful - but I can't imagine the time spent with all those curved seasms. Sometimes I think you must sew 36 hours a day.
Ha! I got some for my birthday last Oct. and did not share them. Great quilt in the making.
Beautiful! The blocks are reminiscent of flying geese but more modern... LOVE the colors!
Mmmmmm...macarons!! Both the cookie and your upcoming design! I have tried them a few times...they are difficult to find fresh around here.
Oh, I have never seen such a thing! I must find me some! Love that quilt, fabulous follow up on an inspiration! Love it!

I've never tried a macaron. They look too sweet for me, but your sweet quilt is something else!!! What a simple but stunning idea. Looking forward to seeing the end result, Karen :-)
I've never seen or tired a macaron either, they certainly are pretty. I'm going to have to see if they have any around here. Looking forward to seeing your quilt.

I've never eaten a macaroon in my life. Now THAT would be an awesome giveaway! Love your creative design, by the way.
