Amazing Selvage Bowls!

Look at this incredible selvage bowl by Kathi Price, a talented selvage artist from Frisco, Texas!

Just this morning I realized that you can't use selvages to make one of these bowls because you can't cut the selvages on the bias. Then, ironically, Kathi sends me these photos today! How did she do this? I see more of that nice blue and white striped fabric that she used to bind the top edge of her beautiful selvage tote bag (see post March 11). I wonder if Kathi has any "in-progress" photos to share. I'm really curious!

I'm going to guess she wrapped the selvages around cording which would give it the bias cut look. See V & Co's basket tutorial on the Moda Bakeshop blog for instructions!

I always enjoy the projects you show on your blog, but this bowl has really captured my attention. It's absolutely gorgeous! I've been wanting to make one of these but just couldn't find the right fabric. I know exactly what I'll do now. THANKS so much for sharing!
