Safety-Pin Necklace

On a visit to the Denver (Colorado) Art Museum last week, I saw this necklace in the gift shop. It's made from safety-pins and little silver spacer beads. The safety pins are decorated with colorful beads. Isn't this clever? I think it would be more fun to make this than it would be to wear it, but I wanted you to see it. Have a creative day!

Very cute but I agree with you- more fun to make then wear. This would make a fun project for a young girls birthday party.

oh,oh,oh....little bracelets made with the pins and beads- joined end to end would be really cute too and much easier to wear.

We made similar ones in GirlScouts about 50 years ago. Different less expensive beads but the same idea.

Reminds me of the friendship pins that were big in the early '80s. We'd wear them on our shoes over the toe-most laces. Wow--haven't thought of those for years!

I would definitely wear it. I might just have to make one for myself. Thanks for sharing!

I had a watch band that was made of safety pins with beads on it. It was strung through with elastic, which stretched out and broke, but I still have the pins, already beaded with seed beads. Oh, I have got to try this!! Thank you so much for the idea!
