A friend emailed your blog site to me because I use itty bitty scraps as well as selvage edges in my art quilts. It was fun looking through all your posts and discovering you're the one who "wrote the book". Thanks.

I definitely want to do this!!! I'm new to collecting the selvages but my stash is growing. From what I've been snooping on the net, the selvages are sewn onto a base fabric. So obviously, if I wanted to make a skirt I would need to accommodate for the possible shrinkage by all the stitching. Would it be wish (or bad idea) to wash the newly made fabric BEFORE cutting into skirt pieces?

Thanks
